The Cmas Technical Committee, guest of Italian Federation at European Dive Show, Bologna (Italy)
The Technical Committee of Confédération Mondiale des Activités Subaquatiques has attended the annual meeting of Fipsas/Cmas instructors.
Thanks to the nth brilliant initiative of the Cmas Technical Committee President Jean Rondia and to the professionality of all members, the Committee itself, on Saturday 15th March, Directors, Instructors,
Technicians and Enthusiasts of the italian underwater world had the opportunity to meet up and converse with Cmas authoritative representatives.
The circumstance for italian diving world is unprecedented. Besides Technical Committee's representatives, other distinguished directors of the Confederation were present at the meeting:
Claudio Nolli, BoD Cmas member and Alberto Azzali, President of Sport Committee Cmas Europe and President of the Sport Committee Fipsas.

Welcomed by the President of Italian Federation, Prof. Claudio Matteoli, friends of Technical Committee CMAS in the same voice of their leader, have expressed the full satisfaction for participating in this important meeting organized by Fipsas, the representative federation at worldwide level for the consistency of its results, the teaching quality that it offers in the whole country and the constant and active collaboration with Cmas of which it's proud to be a founding member.
By the words of President Rondia, the serious intention about improving further the teaching quality standards under the aegis of Cmas has been immediately appeared clear, through a strong collaboration with the reference Federations, recognizing their respective sovereignty in the country which may concern.
As much as through serious and widespread tests on teaching parameters and instructors's technical and cultural preparation level.
The italian workforce wishes to undertake an important political action which may be synthesized in 4 points below:
- Increasing visibility and image
- Standardization and continous improvement of skills.
- Support to the Federations who request it, in order to encourage quality and development.
- Absolute acknowledgment of national sovereignty and incitement to a further growth by collaboration offers.
- Using potential synergies for a cost containment.
Smiles and photo shots interrupted the event's formality and the moments shared at dinner brought guests and friends together in the diving world made of biological, scientific, teaching interests and even by anecdotes.
Fipsas's results for Cmas in 2013:
Sports Committee: 43 medals won overall (17 gold, 11 silver, 15 bronze)
Athletes overall in various categories: 1486
Technical Committee: released about 10.000 Cmas cards.
