Underwater Cultural Heritage Discovery Course 2017 (CMAS)
Course description:
The course is organized in collaboration with the local dive center “Centro Sub Campi Flegrei” (www.centrosubcampiflegrei.it/en) and designed for sport divers with an interest in underwater archeology and students of archeology. In a theoretical introduction, the participants will get an insight into the topics of underwater archeology, several find spots, laws for the protection of our cultural heritage and the special conservation conditions under water. In the practical part of the course, the participants will have the opportunity to discover the different cultural heritage sites in the underwater park of Baiae. In addition, they learn how they have to behave on a monument under water and what they can do if they discover an object of historical or archaeological interest.
Included in the course fee:
- Seminar fee
- Costs for 6 dives in the archaeological park of Baiae (incl. tanks and weights)
- Accommodation in 3-star hotel (3 nights in double room incl. breakfast)
- Entrance to the archaeological museum of Baiae
Requirements:
- Valid medical health examination for diving
- Valid diving insurance
- CMAS** or equivalent
