Juergen Warnecke's report of the CMAS General Assembly 2013
Visual 10.05.2013The CMAS General Assembly organised from the 19th to the 22nd of April, 2013 on the Cebu/Philippines will bring a wave of new impulses to our world organization. By the new election of the board of directors, the partly astonishing allocation of staff of the committee and the unanimous confirmation of the commissions arises a good condition for a new beginning at all levels.
Particularly our commission will profit from the new composition of the competences.
As our CMAS President Anna Arzhanova told me she will promote all activities that allow expecting an improvement of the CMAS image.
Although our application for independency had to be dismissed due to statute reasons, we will be able to self-actualise us better than ever. On this subject the CMAS legal department will check whether we can be integrated directly into the new statute as "Independent Commission".
The Technical committee with its new President Jean Rondia has advised that our education standards are negotiable and the new President of the Sports committee Iliad Xiarchos stressed that he will not prevent our cooperations with all committees and commissions.
We can put special hope on intensive cooperation with Dr. Ralph Schill, President of the Scientific committee. I know Dr. Schill for many years and know that he will give a very intensive impulse to this department.
Therefore, I have not set that much on common developments with the naming of the commissioners, but have assigned individual areas of responsibility in which - in each case with my cooperation - proposals should be compiled for a master plan.
A first decision of the CMAS BOD was that Mr. Byung doo Lee / Korea was assigned to the VISUAL COMMISSION as a direct representative of the BOD. We thus have a seat and a voice in the CMAS Board, which is represented by Mr. Byung doo Lee.
As in previous Elective General Assemblies a first meeting of the commission took place a day after the elections.
During this meeting the members of the commission were appointed and the desired activities were discussed. Ms. President Arzhanova pointed to the CMAS Internal Rules after which the Federations must undertake to take over the costs for possible travels of their candidates. Two times of absence from an on time scheduled work meeting leads to the exclusion of the commissioner.
Regarding this subject it should be said that we plan a maximum of three meetings in this legislative period and for the rest make our decisions by mail.
