CMAS and PADI Vice Presidents meet in Bristol to discuss issues of common interest and possibility of cooperation

On the 7th of May 2010 a meeting was held in Bristol in the United Kingdom between Dr Iván Nyíri, Vice President, World Underwater Federation (CMAS) and Mr Mark Caney, Vice President, Professional Association of Diving Instructors (PADI).

A number of subjects were discussed, including environmental protection, trends in the global diving business, international standardisation of diver training, teaching philosophies, the promotion and encouragement of diving in developing marketplaces and the 2011 CMAS World Games.

The meeting was positive and it was agreed that future meetings would be beneficial to explore areas of mutual interest and concern.
