Apnea Commission Meeting in Rome

The Apnea Commission Meeting was held on February 01 2014, in Rome, Italy at CMAS offices. The minutes of the meeting was as follows:
- The main Judge is Marie-Paule Gelle from France, approved by BOD.
- Discussions about the homologation of world records;
- Discussions about the world record attempts of Italian athletes Mr. Homar LEUCI and Miss. Alessia ZECCHINI and Czech Republic athlete Mr. Michal Risian record have done and technical decisions have been submitted to BoD.
- The commission has decided too propose the BoD that;
- The contract of record attempt item 2.1.1.1.1 will be changed as “The national federations should apply for the national championships to be put into the calendar three months before the event (to be valid from the beginning of 2015)
- In national championships and competitions held with CMAS rules, the minimum number of athletes (male and/or female in total for each discipline; example: 8 male or 8 female or 4 male plus 4 female) participating should be 8, for a world record to be homologated.
- Apnea disciplines in CMAS championships;
- The commission wants to propose the BoD that countries to select disciplines according to their available facilities/resources. They should be free to organize the competitions. It is possible to propose to organize indoor, outdoor or both competitions.
- New International Judge Course will be one in Tenerife.
- Apnea standards and courses documents have been accepted with minor changes. It will be proposed to BOD for approval.
- Disabled free divers bottom limits.
- No bottom limit is fixed yet. Decided to ask the advice from the medical commission about the possibility of record attempt of disabled athletes through the general secretary. Accordingly, the bottom limit will be decided afterwards.
- Other issues are kept confidential and to be announced if BoD approves.
