Frank discussions held on a number of CMAS related issues with the Australian Underwater Federation President, Mr. Graham Henderson

The private visit of the Vice President to Australia was used to meet the President of one of the most diverse and large member federations of CMAS. Frank discussions were held on a number of Confederation related issues with the Australian Underwater Federation President, Mr. Graham Henderson. These topics inter alia included the following ones:
- need for the change of the CMAS Statutes, likelihood of passing the new document before 2013, ideas about what the new document should contain in order to correspond to the exigencies of the XXIst Century,
- financial position of the Confederation,
- ways and means of boosting the Underwater Hockey activity of more countries on various continents, Hockey Rules and Championship Calendar,
- ideas in the field of environment protection, programmes related to the scientific performance of CMAS, possible cooperation with the Australian Federation in determined fields of research and investigation. Potential in Government-AUF-CMAS trilateral cooperation,
- if and when need arises, assistance to AUF for a major refreshment/crossover/instructor training course,
- possible participation of Australian finswimmers in World Cups, organised on different continents,
- eventual assistance given by the AUF to the Philippine Association of Underwater Activities (PAUA),
During the meeting it was agreed that the parties would hold regular consultations in order to use the Australian experience for the advancement of CMAS’s sport performance on one side and pass on CMAS’s global view and knowledge on a number of matters of major importance on the other side.
