13th Junior European Finswimming Championship is Over in Miskolc-Nyékládháza, Hungary

The best competitors of 17 European countries left Hungary after a joyful five days championship where one Record of Europe and seven of the Junior World Records were given to the past, including one absolute World record. Three of these records were broken by Russia, three by the Hungarian swimmers and one by Greece. These seven new records characterise the fierce fight among swimmers for the medals. Sixteen gold medals were taken by the outstanding Russian swimmers, followed by Greece (7) and Ukraine (4). Details can be seen in the medals' list.
Both, local authorities and citizens of Miskolc-Nyékládháza praised the impeccable conduct and behaviour of the athletes, satisfying the highest standards of CMAS. The team of the Czech Republic earned the Fair Play Award of the competition. Several of the athletes of the Junior Championship will return to Hódmezővásárhely-Hungary next week for the week long 16th Finswimming World Championship, a major meeting of 31 nations.
