General Assembly Approves 2010 Accounts With Unprecedented Unanimity. Colombia voted against.

After the BoD Meeting of the 20th May, General Assembly of CMAS is held on the 21st May. The one day meeting:

  • approved the 2010 accounts, with a convincing surplus indicating a marked turnaround in CMAS financial management. A number of countries praised the responsible and highly effective work of the BoD,
  • gave its approval to the 2011 budget that planes a further improvement of the Confederation's financial position,
  • accepts the work of the BoD in 2010 and approves its decisions taken,
  • listens to motion of the Secretary General on the urgency of the new Statutes (Articles of Association) to be ready and approved by the BoD before the end of the year, so it can go to the General Assembly of 2012 for discussion and approval,
  • after a heated debate accepts the withdrawal of the French proposal for holding the 2013 Elective General Assembly in Marseilles-France. As a consequence decides to hold next year's Extraordinary- and Ordinary General Assemblies in Rome Italy,
  • takes note of Indonesia's ideas of attracting to Bali the 2013 Elective General Assembly. Detailed proposal with prices, concessions and place of the GA would be sent to CMAS before the 17th September BoD Meeting for evaluation,
  • listened to the progress reports on the advancement of the execution of the Master Plan, as well as to the evaluation of the performance of the Presidents of the Technical,- Sport,- and Scientific Committees.
