The CMAS and The International World Games Association mourns the death of Dr. Karl-Heinz Kerll

The CMAS is greatly saddened to learn the death of Mr. Karl-Heinz Kerll President of CMAS Anti-doping Commission.
The CMAS expresses its deepest sympathy to Mr. Karl-Heinz Kerll family.The International World Games Association mourns the death of Dr. Karl-Heinz Kerll.
The member of the IWGA Medical Commission died unexpectedly at the age of 80 on 15 October.
"We have always highly appreciated the commitment and competence that he showed in the Medical Commission. But above all, we will miss Karl-Heinz as an active member of the World Games family over many years," said IWGA President Ron Froehlich about the death of Dr. Kerll. The IWGA expresses its deepest sympathy to Dr. Kerll's family.
Kerll had served on the IWGA Executive Committee from 1985 to 1997, when he was appointed Honorary Member by the Annual General Meeting. He continued to work for IWGA as a member of the Medical Commission and as an expert for the doping controls carried out at The World Games.
He last served in that capacity for the 2009 Games in Kaohsiung, TPE.
At his funeral in Münster, Germany the President of CMAS Mr. Achile Ferrero and the Vice-President Dr. Iván Nyíri were present and paid there respect in the name of the world diving community.
His funeral was held on the 25th October in the presence of family members, friends and a great number of people who loved and respected him. The leadership of the German Sport Dive.
