The 18th World Championships will remain engraved in people’s memories as an important step of Finswimming history
Several world records have been beaten but some remain iconic. 200m SF women and men visualize this step during this second day of competitions.
Valeria BARANOVSKAYA (RUS) in 1'25 "90 crosses the threshold of 1'26" while she had set the record in 1'28 "33 at the World Championships in Kazan in 2011.
The second is the superb record of Juan Fernando OCAMPO LOZADA (COL) in 1'19 "54. He is the first to pass the barrier of 1'20. It is a strong symbol of the progress of the sport of finswimming.
This record was of 1'20 since May 2012 by William Paul BALDWIN (GRE).
Others will certainly follow.
